Customer: United States Department of Energy
Project Type: Transient Emissions Cell
Dynamometer: 600 Hp DC Motoring Dynamometer
Control System: DynoLAB PT
Other Equipment: Horiba MEXA gas analyzers, Pierburg CVS/Particulate system
SAKOR designed a test cell for the United States Department of Energy ReFuel Laboratory in Denver, which performs heavy-duty transient diesel emissions testing for all types of on-road diesel engines. The system can perform to all U.S. standards (including EPA and CARB), as well as European standards. This project involved integrating an existing high horsepower DC dynamometer with emissions testing equipment provided by Horiba and Pierburg (AVL). The DynoLAB PT was selected for its ease of use, as well as its ability to easily integrate various, sometimes dissimilar, equipment from multiple vendors.
