Heavy Duty Off-Road Transient Emissions Test Cell

Project Type: Heavy Duty Transient Emissions Cell

Customer: United States Department of Energy

Dynamometer: 600 Hp AccuDyne AC Motoring Dynamometer

Control System: DynoLAB

Other Equipment: Horiba MEXA gas analyzers, Pierburg CVS/Particulate system

SAKOR designed a test cell for the United States Department of Energy ReFuel Laboratory in Denver, which performs heavy-duty diesel transient emissions testing for all types of off-road diesel engines. The system is capable of performing tests to all US (EPA and CARB) as well as Euro standards. This project involved replacing an existing DC dynamometer with AccuDyne AC dynamometer, as well as emissions testing equipment provided by Horiba and Pierburg (AVL). The DynoLAB test automation control system was selected for its ease of use, as well as its ability to easily integrate various, sometimes dissimilar, equipment from multiple vendors.
